Fukagawa Edo Museum
The exhibition room in the vast atrium from basement to the 2th floor reproduces the townscape of Fukagawa and the people's lives of the Edo period (assumed from 1842 to 1843).
Besides two longhouses, grocery store, rice dealer, fire tower, boathouses, waterway with a roofless small boat, and many household items are showed and even for you to touch them. Furthermore, the lifestyles of Fukagawa are recreated with the use of various sound and lighting effects. For example, during the summer time, the light before dawn, the sound of chickens, the sound of selling clams and flowers, the sound of rain, and beautiful scenery of rainbows and sunsets. The old down-town atmosphere leads you to the world of Fukagawa 170 years ago. (fee-charging)
