Kiyosumi Garden
Kiyosumi Gardens were originally the suburban residence of an Edo era feudal lord, but later bought by the founder of Mitsubishi during the Meiji period. It was donated to the city of Tokyo in 1932. The garden continued to be maintained and developed as a valuable excursion landscape garden in the history of modern gardens.
The garden is known for its beautiful scenery, famous landscape stones acquired from all across Japan and the perfect arrangement of large and small islands surrounding the pond and pavilion.
In 1979, it was designated as the first scenic spot of Tokyo, and selected as one of the hundred New Tokyo scenes. (fee-charging)
